Imitation is a state of mind.

Everyone seems to thrive on looking like her, him, or the skinny model from vogue magazine. To dress, speak, walk, and possibly, look like that person! We all are created equal, but that doesn't mean we all have to copy each other. Girls and even guys don't see this because they're too focused on what's in front of them. Too focused that they have to be something or someone else just to recieve people's attention and affection.

Nothing is original. We steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels our imagination. Don't you think? We devour old films, new films, books, music, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, nature, light, and even shadows. Everyone thinks they're better than everyone else at one point but we all know we ain't. Select only things to take from, that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, then your work is authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing it, celebrate it if you have to. You can't hide it. BUT in any case, remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from- it's where you take them to."

After you've done this, then you're truly what you say, one of a kind.
